About the gallery
HAQQ Studio presents the work of Bermudian artists Haqq (aka Nhuri Bashir). His practice explores memory, cultural identity and systems of value through his creative expression. Combining currency, silk screen, collage and acrylics Haqq examines the relationship between money, belonging and the things people choose to value.

About the artist
HAQQ is a Bermudian artist whose practice examines the relationship between cultural memory and systems of value. Drawing on personal archives, currency and the visual culture of Bermuda, he brings inherited symbols into new contexts through collage, photography and painted surfaces. His compositions explore how material and image acquire significance, tracing connections between belonging, wealth and power. Across his work, acts of fragmentation and reconstruction question what is preserved, what is valued and who determines its worth.
