About the gallery
Founded in 2019 by artist and curator Gabriel Shaffer, Mortal Machine Gallery is located in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Its program brings together emerging and established artists working across painting, sculpture, photography, and mixed media, with a focus on contemporary figuration, surrealism, storytelling, pop culture, and underground art. The gallery has exhibited works by artists including Swoon, Dan Witz, Shepard Fairey, Mab Graves, and Robert Williams. Through an active exhibition schedule and ambitious art fair presentations, Mortal Machine connects an international roster of artists with collectors while maintaining the independent spirit of its New Orleans roots
