About the gallery

See You Next Thursday (SYNT) is a New York–based, artist-led platform owned and directed by artist and curator Paige Beeber. Its programming spans online auctions, exhibitions, artist residencies, public art, and philanthropic initiatives, connecting independent artistic voices with collectors and new audiences. Projects include a Brooklyn artist residency and New/New, a public billboard exhibition in New York and New Mexico presented with SaveArtSpace and the University of New Mexico–Taos Art Department. SYNT has also organized fundraising initiatives supporting artist communities, including California wildfire relief in collaboration with the Taos Abstract Artist Collective. For its InScope Miami Beach debut, SYNT presents its International Flat File alongside a featured presentation of paintings by Boramie Sao.

About the artist

Boramie Sao is a self-taught Cambodian American artist whose abstract paintings explore the evolving nature of memory, emotion, and personal transformation. Working primarily with oil, pencil, and pastel on linen, she embraces the rawness of natural fibers, allowing the texture and imperfections of the canvas to remain visible and active within each composition. Her practice is rooted in observation of both the external landscape and her internal world, creating works that hold traces of specific moments, places, and states of being. Influenced by the six years she spent living and painting in the quiet solitude of Taos, New Mexico, Sao approaches painting as a meditative process of uncovering, where intuition and reflection guide the work as it gradually reveals itself.

Rather than adhering to a fixed visual language, Sao allows each body of work to evolve organically alongside her own experiences and shifting perspectives. Drawn to the unknown, the in-between, and the unresolved, she creates paintings that invite contemplation and emotional resonance. In recent years, her work has moved away from bold symbols, defined forms, and vibrant color toward softer layers and atmospheric depth, reflecting a more open and spiritually driven approach.
